On August 26, 1920, women gained the right to vote with the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. OK not all women. But an important first step. And we know that the social justice fight continues for many.
We do not know what kind of social distancing we will have to be doing in August, but Troop 2832 is planning our 19th Amendment Celebration.
We already took a virtual tour (our in person tour was cancelled because of the pandemic) of the Women March exhibit at the New York Historical Society.
Two of our Troop 2832 Girl Scout Cadettes put together a historical look at two early women’s rights fighters – Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony. Read more on their website, therevolution2020.org.
